So just how does Beyond Napa Valley Work?

It's all about the wine regions.

Libraries have the Dewey Decimal system. The Wine World has Wine Regions.

Wine Regions are simply a classification system that is designed to reflect the style of the wine made in that region. The borders are almost as the crow flies, made up of degrees and angles. Wine regions have no geographical connections to cities, towns or even counties. So unfortunately even Rand McNally might get confused at first.

Since the wine world is classified in this way, we figured that our site should be as well. Beyond Napa Valley is the only search site where you can search by Wine Regions, and only by Wine Regions (in additional to advanced searches according to your mood). We wanted to reflect the distinct organization of the wine world so you can unveil the best regional experience possible.

We think Beyond Napa Valley is just the kind of website Robert Parker would use.**

The Site is split into 3 areas:

1. The Wineries

Find the winery you want to go to

Wine Tasting is fun. But trying to figure out which winery is for you is quite a challenge. Thanks to our intuitive Winery Search tool, we make it easy and fun to search for a winery.

The search functionality also includes the ability to search by tasting fee, varietal, eco-friendly winery, and so much more.

Each winery page has everything an oenophile would want to know. From tasting fees to amenities, you’ll know more than Robert Parker after perusing through our site.**

2. Events

The thrill of wine tasting just got turned up to 11

Have you ever wondered if there is an event going on during the same week or weekend you’re going wine tasting? We thought you did. And so we built Beyond Napa Valley so you can find events in the particular wine region you’re traveling to.

3. Planning Your Visit

Eat, sleep and be chauffeured

While the main objective of going wine tasting is to, well, go taste wine, we understand there are many other facets to your trip then simply spitting wine (you are spitting, right?). And so we’ve set up a helpful area designed for you to fully plan your visit to the wine country.

When an activity involves the combination of driving and alcohol, it’s sensible to plan ahead. From where to eat, where to lodge, and who to call for transportation, we've got your go-to planning directory.

** For the record, we can’t guarantee nor can we validate that you’ll learn as much about wine as Robert Parker by using our site. Nor do we know if Robert Parker is using our site (though we really hope he is).
